I have previously talked about how to submit your blog to search engines. If your website is not indexed on search engines, submitting your website can help you a lot. But, if you have already done this and your website is still not visible on search engines, you can use ping services.
Now, before you get confused, let’s first talk about what ping or ping is.
What is Ping?
Pitching basically means notifying the search engine that your blog or website has been updated. It is an XML-RPC-based mechanism that sends a notification to the search engine that the content on a website is being updated.
In simple words, pinging your blog is like saying “Hey, Search Engine Bots, check out my blog”.
There are many ways to ping your website. You can do this automatically or use ping services. WordPress also has a ping service that runs automatically and notifies search engines when you publish or edit any page or post on your website.
On your WordPress dashboard, go to Settings > Typing.
When you scroll down the page, you will see a field called Update Services. In this field, you can enter the list of services where you want to test the connection of your website.
You can find the list of ping sites I use to ping here.
Copy and paste the list and save changes. This is how you can use the WordPress automatic ping service.
If you update your blog posts often, I highly recommend you to use the Ping Optimizer plugin to limit excessive Ping usage since every time you make changes to the post/page your site will be pinged.
Apart from the automatic ping service by WordPress, there are many websites that you can use to ping your blog for search engines.
This is what this post is about. I will show you the 10 best Ping sites to ping your blog for search engines.
But, before we get started, it is important to know when and why you are testing your blog’s connectivity.
When & Why Ping Your Blog?
If your blog is new, you know how difficult it is to be visible on search engines. And it can be really frustrating when you submit your blog to search engines and it doesn’t get indexed.
In these cases, you can ping your site to get quick results. Even if your site isn’t new, you can ping it when your pages and posts aren’t indexed.
Is there any negative impact of testing your website’s connectivity?
Yes and no. Generally, Pinging does not have any negative effect but it is recommended not to test the same URL over and over in a short period of time.
Here I will show you 10 sites that you can use to ping your blog. Now, I wouldn’t recommend testing your site’s connection to all these tools at the same time.
Using 2-3 sites is better than using all 10 sites.
Enough said. Let’s dive into our list.
Top 10 Bing Sites to Ping Your Blog to Search Engines
1. SmallSEOTools Bing Tools
SmallSEOtools is well known for its Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tools. Among these tools is the ping tool.
The tool is very simple. You can enter up to 10 URLs and submit for a ping. You can even give a category to the URLs you entered.
It is very easy to use this tool and it is completely free.
2. Ping 0 matic
Ping-o-Matic is a well-known ping site for pinging your blog for search engines. Unlike ping by SmallSEOTools, you can enter your blog name, URL and RSS URL into Ping-o-Matic.
This tool also gives you the option to choose which services you want to ping. There are many popular services that you can choose.
One might argue that Ping-o-Matic doesn’t offer many services but they have good reason for that. They want to make sure that all the services they list are legitimate and working.
This is why they have fewer important services instead of having a large number of ping services.
The only caveat here is that you cannot enter URLs in bulk in Ping-o-Matic.
3. Ping Feedburner
Feedburner is a ping service provided by Google itself. You can enter the blog’s URL and Feedburner will automatically test its connection.
This is one of the most reliable ping sites as it is powered by Google and updates the feed instantly while many other sites take some time to update the feed.
Pingler is a free pinging tool to test the connectivity of your site’s URLs. You can enter the title or keyword of the URL and then ping.
Pingler also gives you the option to select a URL category. What sets Pingler apart is that you can choose the services you want to ping.
By default, there are several services included in the ping services field. You can add or remove services from this field accordingly.
Pingler also offers a premium version of the tool which features faster indexing and ranking. The premium version also has thousands of ping resources and is SEO friendly.
One of the great features of the premium version is that it also comes with an automatic site crawler. This crawler monitors your website on a daily basis and automatically imports new pages into your account. The premium service starts at $2.99.
IndexKings is a fast indexing tool that sends your URL to 15,000+ sites and helps you gain more backlinks.
You can enter multiple URLs and send them easily. The tool allows you to submit your website’s internal pages (called complex URLs).
But, when you are submitting a complex URL using this tool, be sure to check the box for submitting complex URLs.
6. total ping
Total Ping is another ping site like Ping-o-Matic. You can enter your blog name, URL, RSS URL and ping your site.
The site gives you the option to choose which services you want to test your site’s connection to. There are English and international services to choose from.
The tool is very simple and gets the job done easily.
7. Bing Blog
Ping Blog is a ping service that sends your blog to different directories to let them know that your content has been updated.
To ping your blog, you simply have to enter your blog name and URL. The site also gives you the option to enter your own XML feed which is optional.
Although you can modify it, Ping Blog allows you to see a list of services where Ping will be tested on your site.
8. ping my blog
Ping My Blog is a ping service where you can test your site’s connection to several services. You have to enter your blog name, URL and RSS URL which is optional.
Then, you can choose which services you want to test your site’s connection to. Ping My Blog has a huge list of services that you can choose from.
You can select or deselect them all to help you make your selection easily.
9. use me
Useme allows you to test your blog’s connection on more than 2,400 services for free. Just enter your URL and select the number of sites.
But, this is the catch.
Instead of giving you the option to choose sites, Useme just lets you select the number of sites you want to ping. So, you can select the Top 20, Top 100, or Top 2460.
This means that you cannot know what 2460 locations are.
10. Binger domain
Domain Pinger is a pinging site where you just enter your domain and your website will be sent to over 2450 sites for a ping.
With this tool, you don’t have the option to choose how many services you want to ping. It also does not provide a list of websites to which your site will be sent for a ping.
These are the 10 best ping sites to ping your blog on search engines. Now, most of these sites will offer your site to the same services.
That’s why I recommend you proceed with caution and use only 2-3 websites to ping. Being reckless and submitting to all of these sites can result in a penalty which is the last thing anyone would want to happen to their site.
